Students from New Design University are organising an exhibition of modernist architecture in collaboration with students from FA BUT
A group of
architecture students from New Design University in St. Pölten, Austria,
visited FA BUT. Together
with students from FA BUT, they discussed an upcoming exhibition dedicated to Brno’s modernist
buildings. The exhibition will be on display from April in St. Pölten, Brno’s
twin town.

The
forthcoming exhibition is based on eleven models of Brno’s modernist buildings,
which were created at FA BUT. Austrian architecture students, graphic designers and event
designers are collaborating on its design.
During their
visit to Brno, the international guests toured the Tugendhat Villa and then
headed to FA BUT. They
were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty and Vice-Dean Lenka Štěpánková. The
traditional bread and salt were also on offer.
At the
faculty, students from St. Pölten met their Czech counterparts and discussed
the exhibition design together. Students from Karin Písaříková’s studio
presented their work at the House of Arts and shared their experiences and
working methods. The meeting thus provided a space for the mutual exchange of
experiences and examples of good practice.
The
programme also included a visit to the modernist buildings that the students
had selected for their forthcoming exhibition, as well as a guided tour of Brno.
The exhibition will open in St. Pölten in April. The visit took place with the
support of the city councils of Brno and St. Pölten as part of the partnership
between the two cities.
