Szymon Rozwałka will present architecture “on the border” in Pilsen
Szymon Rozwałka, a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture
at BUT, will speak on June 10 in Pilsen as part of
the “Architecture Beyond Four Borders” series. In his lecture, he will focus on
architecture “on the border,” the beauty of imperfection, contrast, and
improvisation. The lecture will take place on June 10, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at
the Semler Residence in Pilsen and is part of the Architecture Beyond Four
Borders series.
In his presentation, Szymon Rozwałka will focus on the
search for beauty in architecture “on the border”—that is, architecture of
contrast, uncertainty, and imperfection. He will also speak about the “beauty
of weeds,” improvisation, and why architecture need not strive solely for
purity, control, and the elimination of difference.
In his lecture, he will present examples from his own
practice, student projects from the Institute of Experimental Design at Brno
University of Technology, and selected projects from Poland. At the same time,
he emphasizes the conviction that architecture should actively respond to
contemporary challenges and the volatility of our times and can serve as a tool
for necessary change.
The event is organized by the Pěstuj prostor initiative in
collaboration with the West Bohemian Gallery in Pilsen.
