Architectural Perspective Drawing Course 2023

Come and expand your skills on a weekly course for the public, focused on the basics of architectural drawing and architectural vision at the Faculty of Architecture BUT.

This year's year takes place from August 28 – September 1, 2023. The course consists of 17 hours divided into up to 5 lessons in five days - 3x3 and 2x4 hours. The lessons will take place in FA drawing studio and in the open air.

Order individual lessons will be specified at the beginning of the course, also depending on the weather. The course will be conducted by the staff of the Department of Visualization FA BUT and is suitable for all interested parties, it is especially recommended for those interested in studying architecture. Drawing proficiency is not required.

V lessons that will take place in the drawing studio of the Faculty of Architecture, you will get to know the basics of perspective - interpretation, perspective studies, basics of drawing technique, composition. In lessons that take place outside faculty, in the open air, you will practice observation and perspective drawing in real conditions.
One lesson will be devoted to going out with interpretation focused on architectural phenomena, styles and the real situation, which can be observed in the streets of Brno. Brno is architectural from a very interesting point of view, the city is famous for its modernism buildings and also the unique urban situation in which they mix historical and modern urban development with rural enclaves and charming parks.

Recommended tools and equipment: pencils of different hardness, crayons, eraser. It is also possible to use markers or pen and ink, watercolors and brushes. For drawing outside, a plate or mat from of hard paper (cardboard) – min. A3, ideally A2. Paper will be available. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, something against the sun - a hat, a cap or an umbrella. Who has a folding chair, who doesn't finds a bench.

Course price: 3,910 CZK for the public, 2,933 CZK for students and employees of BUT
